A fair measure of good times, good company, comfortable surroundings, door prizes and if it is an Indian doing, Good Food!

Antoinette is a gracious hostess for the 50 or more visitors that came to see and support the Southern California American Indian Resource Center, SCAIR April 9, 2008 11 am to 2 pm celebration Open House.
The SCAIR Learning center is located at 4265 Fairmont Ave. Suite 160 San Diego CA 92105.
Good neighbor is the Indian Human Resource Center, IHRC.
This is a place for TANF participants to utilize along with Indian students and the diverse American Indian population that SCAIR serves in San Diego County.
All ages and persuasions of people came early to this event and stayed late.
SCAIR administration and learning center is located in Alpine.
SCAIR both administers and participated in partnership affiliations with the California Department of Education Indian Education program and the San Diego Unified School District liaison Vickie Gambala.
Further, the American Indian Recruitment, AIR program is also a part of the resources and services under the SCAIR umbrella.
Additionally, the Southern California Tribal Chairman and SCAIR administration co-corporately address Urban Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, TANF services.
I met so many down home-back home folks it made me wonder if this is an Open house or an Oklahoma Sooner reunion?
In truth, both the military and BIA relocation program has brought many of the original Indian Territory Tribal peoples to California.
Choctaw, Cherokee, Seminole and many other uncivilized representatives of tribal life. We always like to tease the five ‘civilized tribes’. Teasing without meanness is so much a part of Indian life. There is a good amount of teasing at this open house event.
The SCAIR board: William Johnson, Lona Walsh, and Wanda Michaelis, executive Director is in attendance. All are in support of this new SCAIR satellite office including Ernie Salgado and his Red Scooter.

In this image are Ernie and Lennie Ray, San Diego Urban TANF Director.

These images will help document all the good folks that came in the open door and enjoyed the warmth and good feelings that prevailed at the SCAIR Open House for the San Diego Learning Center.
